Ceramic foam filters are designed for filtering casting of cast iron, SG iron, bronze and copper alloys.They are very effective for removing the inclusion and show extra resistance to thermal shocks and corrosion from molten iron liquid. It provides laminar flow when applied as a filter in Gating System.Ceramic Foam filters generally help to produce higher quality casting at lower production costs. Types of Ceramic Foam Filters 1. Silicon Carbide Based : Silicon Carbide based filters are used in casting of SG iron & Grey cast iron. 2. Zirconium Based : Zirconium based filters are used in Steel Foundries. It is characterized by high porosity and mechanochemical stability and excellent resistance to thermal attack and corrosion from molten steel liquid. 3. Alumina Based : Alumina based filters are used for filtration of non-ferrous metals like aluminium, copper, magnesium, zinc etc.
